Finding the right pet camera for your dog or cat can be difficult because there are so many options now, but there’s definitely one out there that’s right for your furry friend. Today we’re going to be comparing two of the best brands to show you some premium offerings. Our Petcube vs Ring review will show you which of these cameras is right to watch your pets.
Our Ring vs Petcube review is going to compare these based on camera quality, night vision, motion alerts, audio, and special features.
We would overall say that Petcube Bites 2 Lite is the better of the two. One of the major reasons for this is that it has treat tossing, but it also has many other features as well. However, Ring Stick Up Cam Battery is a wireless pet camera that some people are sure to love.
Camera Quality
The first thing you need to consider is the overall camera quality. The last thing you want is for your pets to appear blurry, or for details to look faded when you’re checking on your pets. Both of these have great cameras, but Petcube is significantly better due to its better viewing angle and extra features.
How is the Petcube Bites 2 Lite camera? this is an HD 1080p live streaming video, that provides you with clear view up to 30 ft. it also comes with 8x zoom so that you can easily check on fine details in the room. The viewing angle is very wide at 160°, which ensures that you won’t miss out on anything when checking on your pets.
How is Ring Stick Up Cam Battery camera? This is also a 1080p HD camera, and it has a very good viewing angle at 130 degrees. The problem is that that’s all the features you get. There’s no zoom, and the viewing angle is less than what you get with Petcube.
Most people would still be happy with Ring, but you get a much better camera with Petcube.

Ring vs Petcube: Night Vision
Another essential feature for any pet camera is night vision. You want to see what’s going on when the lights are off, especially if you hear a noise or you’re away and you just want to check on your pets at night. While this is a common feature, you want to make sure that you’re getting viewable night vision with your camera. Once again we found that one is better than the other, but both come with this feature.
How is night vision on Petcube Bites 2 Lite? Petcube has exceptional night vision that allows you to see up to 30 ft without any loss in quality. You can easily make out details, and you’ll have no issue seeing exactly what’s going on in the room.
How is night vision on a Ring Stick Up Camera? This comes with night vision as well and we have to say that it is rather clear, but details were distorted a bit at further distances. it’s good, but it could be better.
If you’ll be using this in smaller spaces, and both are fairly equal. If you want a clearer view or if you want to see fine details even without any light, then we suggest Petcube.

Ring Stick Up vs Petcube Bites 2 Lite: Motion Alerts
Do you want to get motion alerts from your pets so that you know when they’re moving around, making noise, or anything else is going on? The other benefit of this is that motion alerts send notifications to your phone, so that you know when you should be checking up on them. We would say that both of these are fairly equal, but there is one feature that you might prefer with Ring.
How are the motion alerts with Petcube Bites 2 Lite? You’ll receive notifications on your phone whenever your pets are moving around or making excessive noise. The notifications are also contextual so you’ll know if your pet is barking, if they’re walking around, or if anything else is going on. You can then quickly turn on the feed and see exactly what’s happening.
How are the motion alerts with Ring Battery Stick Up Camera? you also get notifications on your phone to let you know when there is sound or movement. They’re not as contextual, but there is one extra feature that you might really enjoy here. Ring allows you to make custom zones so that it’ll either prioritize or ignore motion in certain areas.
The motion zones are great, especially if there are areas with lots of foot traffic that you don’t want to keep being notified about, but you’ll find that both of these are able to accurately alert you when something is going on.
Petcube Bites 2 Lite vs Ring Stick Up: Two-Way Audio
Your pet camera should have two-way audio so that you can speak to your pets to keep them engaged, and also to prevent them from engaging in behaviors that you want them to stop.
Both are similar, but once again we found that Petcube was the true winner here.
How is two-way audio with Petcube Bites 2 Lite? You get natural and lifelike sound from this pet camera, and it’s done in real time so pets hear you as they’re moving around. They’ll have no problem recognizing your voice, and this can help calm them down and stop them from doing behaviors you do not want them to engage in.
If you’re curious about the difference between Petcube Bites 2 and Petcube Bites 2 Lite, then the two-way audio is one of the major differences. Bites 2 offers four speakers along with a soundbar to create an even more natural sounding voice, and better audio overall. That being said, Bites 2 Lite is still very good.
How is two-way audio with Ring Stick Pp Camera? It offers two way audio along with noise cancellation. This makes your voice sound a little more natural, and your pet should have no problem knowing that it’s you.
both are good, the Petcube is better.

Petcube vs Ring: Special Features
The next thing you want to check for with any pet camera is the special features you’re getting. This can often differentiate the cameras, and can let you know which one is best for your needs. We found that Petcube has better features overall largely because of its treat dispenser, but Ring also has some great features as well.
What special features do you get with Petcube Bites 2 Lite? We think the best feature is the built-in treat dispenser. This can hold a pound and a half of treats, and you can select different treat sizes and different throwing lengths as well. This allows you to keep your pet engaged, and you can make them happy at the same time.
You also get Vet Chat which is a feature that allows you to speak with vets to get their medical opinion. This is useful when you’re either out of the house or want to see a doctor without making an appointment at an office.
Another useful feature is Alexa support. This allows you to issue voice commands when you’re close to the camera, and you can connect it to other Alexa devices.
What special features do you get with Ring battery camera? This also has Alexa support, which allows you to issue voice commands and use it on the Alexa screen and other devices.
It’s also a fully wireless pet camera. This means that you can connect it anywhere without having to worry about an outlet, and it comes with a rechargeable battery. The battery life is good, but it does change considerably depending on your settings.
If you have the camera set to always be on and to constantly record what your pets are doing, then you can expect the battery to last about a week or two. You can extend this to about two or three months if you set the camera to only turn on when it senses motion.
We would say Ring’s strongest feature is that it’s completely wireless, though Petcube we think is much better with its treat dispenser and Vet Chat.
