Our Furbo vs Petcube review will compare these two based on camera quality, night vision, motion alerts, audio, special features, and any other differences we can find.

It’s hard to know which is the best pet camera treat dispenser because both of these have unique features. Petcube has better features overall, but Furbo can rotate 360 degrees for superior viewing angles.

Camera Quality

When it comes to Petcube Bites 2 vs Furbo 360,  we found that both cameras themselves are very good, and that Furbo has one excellent feature that makes it very popular among pet owners. That being said though, don’t discount the Petcube Bites 2 Wi-Fi camera before you know more about it.

Let’s cover the Petcube camera first. This offers 1080p HD video with ultra wide-angle view of 160 degrees. You can zoom up to four times, and it has a very reliable Wi-Fi connection. You can connect over 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections, which ensures that it works with most routers.

What about the Furbo 360 camera? It is also 1080p HD quality, and allows for a live viewing and up to 4 time zoom as well. The major difference though, and one of the major benefits of this pet camera, is that it can rotate 360 degrees. Controlling the rotation is easy, which ensures that you can see your pets no matter where they are. It’ll even track your pet as they move about the room.

If you want a rotating pet camera, then Furbo is the way to go. If you prefer a pet camera with some more mounting options and the ability to connect to different Wi-Fi networks, then you might prefer Petcube.

Treat Tossing

If you’re looking for a treat dispensing pet camera, then you definitely need to know how good it is at tossing treats to your pets.  Both of these are good, but we found that Petcube was significantly better as it supports larger treats, is more intuitive, and offers a much higher capacity.

What treats can Petcube Bites 2 dispense? This allows you to fling small and large treats for your pets. This works best with dry and crunchy treats up to 1-inch in diameter. The Petcube app allows you to change the distance so that you can have fun with your pets and keep them engaged.

This camera is able to hold 1.5lbs of treats. You can also fling between 1-5 treats at a time. You’ll have no problem ensuring that your pets are well-fed and having a great time even if you’re not in the home.

What treats can Furbo dispense? While Furbo is good, we found that it was a little lacking when compared to Petcube. It’s able to hold up to 100 treats, and it works best with dry treats around 0.4-inch in diameter. However, the Furbo app allows you to dispense small treats less than 0.5-inch in diameter, and large treats up to 0.75-inch in diameter.

You can also fling multiple treats and change the distance to keep your pets engaged. It wasn’t quite as intuitive as the Petcube controls, but it’s still quite good and your pets will still love it.

Both are good, but we found that Petcube was better. That being said though, Furbo’s 360 degrees of rotation allows you to fling treats no matter where your pet is in the room.

Furbo vs Petcube Bites 2: Night Vision

If you’re looking for the best pet camera treat dispenser with night vision, then we have to say that both of these fit the bill in this regard. Night vision is very common for pet cameras because you want to see what’s going on with your furry friends at night. Not only that, but this could be useful if you hear something and you don’t feel like getting out of bed.

Both of these use infrared night vision technology to ensure that you can see what’s going on even if no lights are on. We found that they are both very similar in terms of clarity, you should have no problem seeing what’s going on in the room.

Both of them include 4x zoom even with the night vision, but Furbo might be a little better because of the 360-degree rotating view. Petcube does have an extra wide lens below, and you can mount it at higher angles to see more of the room, So it really depends on which one you like better.

One other major difference is that Furbo offers color night vision to make it easier to see what’s in the room and what’s going on. Petcube is quite clear, but it’s not colorful unfortunately.

You’ll have no problem seeing what’s going on in the room even if there’s no light, but Furbo wins here due to the 360-degree view and color night vision.

Furbo vs Petcube: Motion Alerts

One of the best things about pet cameras is that they can alert you if there is motion or sound. It lets you know that something’s going on and that you should start taking a look at your pet and the surrounding area. Both of these provide alerts in smart notifications on your phone, but there is a difference between them.

These are both smart pet cameras that will watch your furry friends and check for motion and sound. This could include your dog walking back and forth, your cat meowing, or your bird being more active than usual. You will then receive a contextual notification on your phone. For example, it might say that your dog is barking or that your cat is moving around and you should check to see what’s going on.

Another feature is that these smart pet cameras will record the activity just in case you want to review it later. This could be helpful as you might miss something between when the motion or sound happens and when you can actually see what’s going on.

Furbo goes a little bit further. This also includes emergency monitoring so that you’ll know if there’s a fire, Intruder, accident, or more. Known as the Furbo Dog Nanny, this feature lets you know when anything is going on in your home.

The emergency monitoring feature makes Furbo a little better than Petcube. We say it’s a little better because Petcube will likely alert you if an emergency is going on, but it’s not made for this specifically.

Petcube Bites 2 vs Furbo: Audio

The best pet cameras for dogs should also have two-way audio. You should be able to hear your dog, cat, or other pet, and you should also be able to speak to them as well. This lets the pet know that they’re not alone, and you can encourage them or tell them to stop destructive behavior.

Both of these offer this feature. However, as you may have noticed in the other sections, one of them goes a little bit further than the other.

Petcube Bites 2 offers superior sound. It uses a four microphone array, duplex sound, and a speaker bar to make it much easier for your pet to hear you. It also makes your voice more natural so that they recognize you with ease.

Furbo also has two-way audio, but it only has one speaker. Your pet should be able to recognize you, and the conversations are done in real time as well. We do have to say though that the sound quality is very different.

While you get two-way audio with both, Petcube does a much better job and your pets will be able to hear you even if they’re several rooms away. Furbo is fine, it just doesn’t do quite as well as Petcube here.

Petcube vs Furbo: Special Features

Both of these have special features that we have not mentioned in other sections yet. This makes each pet camera unique, and you might find one that fits your needs better than the other based on this section alone.

What special features do you get with Petcube Bites 2? This WiFi pet camera is made from high-quality aluminum and durable plastic, which makes it indestructible against most pets. You can also mount it anywhere so that it’s out of reach of larger pets, and this allows you to see different angles of the room.

It offers the highest capacity container for treats, and it also has Vet Chat built-in. This allows you to easily chat with vets so they can see what’s going on with your pet. You can issue voice commands through Alexa, and this is currently the only pet camera that supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi routers.

Furbo doesn’t have quite as many special features, though we want you to keep in mind that we mentioned many other features in previous sections. This comes with Alexa and automatic dog tracking. Even though they call a dog tracking, you should be able to track other pets as well.

What is the Difference Between Petcube and Furbo?

Curious about what is the difference between Furbo and Petcube? There are actually a large number of differences, and both of these are highly sophisticated models with lots of special features that your pet is sure to love.

They both have excellent camera quality, 4x zoom, and wide viewing angles. However, Furbo has a 360-degree rotating camera, which allows you to see the entirety of the room. Another shared feature is that they both have treat tossing so that you can give your dogs and cats treats even when you’re away. Petcube performs much better here because it has a larger capacity, can toss more treats at once, and works with larger traits than Furbo can.

Furbo fires back with night vision because it offers color night vision whereas Petcube uses more traditional infrared technology. Furbo also wins with motion alerts because even though both have sophisticated sound and motion alerts, Furbo was on the lookout for home emergencies like fire or break-ins.

Another shared feature is that both of them have two-way audio so that you can speak with your pet and hear them. Petcube has a soundbar and four speakers so that your voice is louder and more natural.

Final Thoughts

Should you get Petcube or Furbo? This is a hard one because both are great, but they’re great in different ways. We would say the Furbo’s strongest features are the 360-degree rotating camera along with the color night vision. Petcube was better at mounting at high angles, the high-capacity treat container, the ability to use larger treats, in the superior two-way audio.

You win with both of these models, so it really depends on what you’re looking for and what best suits your pet and your apartment or home layout.
