Not only that, but many of the best cameras have phone integration so you have special features as well. What pet camera is best? Our Petcube vs Blink Mini review is going to show you which of these is right for your needs.

Our Blink Mini vs Petcube review will compare these two based on camera quality, night vision, motion alerts, audio, and special features.

It’s really a toss up because Petcube has many unique features that we think more people will like, but Blink Mini has a few unique features as well that some people might prefer.

Camera Quality

Both of these offer similar quality, but Petcube has one special feature the Blink Mini does not have. Let’s see how they’re similar before showing you why Petcube is a little better here.

These are both 1080p pet cameras, which ensures that you get perfect HD clear quality when looking at your pets or anything else in the camera. This means that the video feed will be very smooth so you can easily see what’s going on on the other end.

They both also come with wide viewing angles. Each has a 110 degree wide-angle view. This makes it easy to see the entire room, or multiple animals if you have several pets. You’ll find this makes positioning the camera easier as well.

Petcube offers an 8x zoom feature. This allows you to zoom in and out so that you can get closer to the action and see exactly what is going on. If you want to focus on something specific in the room, then you’ll love this feature. However, Blink Mini does not offer zoom.

We think that the zoom feature makes Petcube much better, but if you don’t think you’re going to use it that often, then the cameras themselves are otherwise the same.

Blink Mini vs Petcube Cam: Night Vision

The night vision feature found on many pet cameras can be useful when you’re away from the home and the lights are out, or if you hear a noise and don’t feel like getting out of bed. We have to say that both of these are pretty much the same, but one was a little bit better.

Does Petcube offer night vision? Yes, this pet camera offers infrared night vision that allows you to clearly see up to 30 feet. You’ll have no problem seeing cats, dogs, or other pets even if there are no lights on.

Does Blink Mini offer night vision? Yes, Blink Mini offers infrared night vision. You also have no problem seeing your pets even if there is no light. We found that this camera wasn’t quite as clear at night time when compared to Petcube, but it was nearly as good.

It’s very close between them, but Petcube was a little bit better in terms of clarity.

Blink Mini vs Petcube: Motion Alerts

You’ll find that motion alerts with smart pet cameras do more than just turn the camera on. You’ll also get a notification on your phone letting you know that motion has been detected. Both of these have different features, and we found that once again that Petcube was the better of the two. However, there is one feature Blink Mini had that you might prefer.

Does Petcube offer motion detection? Yes, this camera will turn on if it detects any motion. It also has noise detection to ensure that it turns on if there is any noise such as a dog barking, something falling, or anything else.

Does Blink Mini offer motion detection? Yes, this pet camera also has motion detection. It does lack noise detection though. This means that it will not send you a notification if there is only noise but no movement.

Blink Mini does have one feature that you might like. It allows you to make customized motion detection zones. This means that the camera will only notify you if motion is detected in certain areas. This could be helpful if there are areas where pets do not go or there is motion that you do not want to know about.

While the customized motion detection zones you get with Blink Mini are good, we think the noise detection that you get from Petcube is much better.

Petcube Cam vs Blink Mini: Audio

Smart pet cameras also give you the ability to speak to your pets even when you’re not directly around them. We found that both of these cameras offer this feature, but to no one’s surprise at this point, one is a little better than the other and it’s Petcube.

Does Petcube offer two-way audio? Yes, you get two-way audio and it’s incredibly smooth and almost in real time. Your voice sounds natural and lifelike, which ensures that your pet recognizes it. They won’t get scared or confused when they hear you speaking. This could be very useful if you’re just trying to interact with them or stop destructive behavior.

Does Blink Mini offer two-way audio? Yes, you get two-way audio with this as well so that you can hear what’s on the other end and speak to your pets as well. The audio doesn’t sound quite as natural, but your pet should still recognize it. There’s a tiny bit of a delay, but you should still be able to speak in near real-time.

While Petcube was a little better here, we found it was almost a tie between them.
